Veery
Veery Catharus fuscescens
Conservation StatusGeneral Status in Canada : SecureCOSEWIC Status : Not assessedThe Veery has undergone consistent declines in recent decades, but no single causal factor has been identified. Possible causes of concern in the breeding range include, parasitism by Brown-headed Cowbirds (Molothrus ater), loss or fragmentation of preferred mature forest habitat, and the loss of understory vegetation due to browsing by over-abundant white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) populations.
