Conservation Status

General Status in Canada Help: Secure

COSEWIC Status Help: Not assessed

Based on current trend information, the Yellow-bellied Flycatcher is not a species of conservation concern as populations have remained relatively stable in recent decades. Future efforts on this species should focus on gathering more detailed natural history information, as most aspects of its breeding ecology would benefit from more detailed study. In general, the relative remoteness of its breeding range, combined with the fact that its preferred habitat is of little interest to commercial forestry due to low merchantability, suggests that breeding habitat is relatively secure. The potential impacts of climate change could pose concerns in future.
