Conservation Status

General Status in Canada Help: Secure

COSEWIC Status Help: Not assessed

The Lincoln’s Sparrow is not considered to be a species of concern at this time. However, because this species requires strict habitat features for breeding, care needs to be taken to adequately protect and manage shrub dominated wetlands to prevent populations from declining significantly and becoming a concern in the future. Currently, commercial forestry is not a big threat given the remoteness of this species’ breeding range.
