Conservation Status

General Status in Canada Help: Secure

COSEWIC Status Help: Not assessed

Throughout most of the breeding range, the Warbling Vireo appears to have experienced significant population increases in recent decades. Its preference for mature deciduous forests and riparian habitats may be partly responsible for these observed trends. The increase in mature forests throughout portions of their eastern range in recent decades, combined with stringent guidelines for the management and protection of riparian areas, has likely contributed to these increases. At this point, no specific management and conservation actions are necessary for the continued persistence of this species.
