Conservation Status

General Status in Canada Help: Secure

COSEWIC Status Help: Not assessed

The conservation status of this species appears to be secure, largely as a function of its wide distribution, large population, and the relative intactness of much of its core breeding habitat. Declines in the extent and quality of habitat on the wintering grounds may have occurred in recent decades, though this has not had any noticeable effect on population numbers. Given this, no specific management or conservation measures have been implemented.
